Just a humble grad student's journey through life's trenches. This is my story of how to deal with a family torn apart by alcohol, and the pressures of young adulthood. I try to do these two things all while keeping my heart and mind fixed on the cross.

I'm Officially Bored
Someone get me out of Hannover! Don't get me wrong, its nice to just be able to chill for a couple of days after the insanely crazy last few weeks, but I'd rather just keep going. Since I have finally had time to breathe, all of my exhaustion has finally caught up with me and even after a full night's sleep, I'm still tired. Today we went to a little town about 30 minutes outside of Hannover called Celle. It was really neat actually. Most of the buildings are what you would think of when I said "German buildings" I'll put up some pics so you know what the hell I'm talking about. We went to the royal palce in Celle and you could walk through it. They had all sorts of cool stuff from the royal family on display, like this chalice that had a gold sippystraw attached to it. I'm guessing for fast access to the Church wine! They had all of these uniforms from the different soliders for Prussia and Germany. You could also go into the "royal chambers" aka the baby making room, but you had to wear these slipper things over your shoes? I didn't understand it, but it was like iceskating so I had fun. Yes, I psuedo-iceskated in the royal chambers of the Celle palace. Be jealous! David said the palace was built in the 1200s and the last rule to live in there was during the 1700s. We walked into this one room and there was a cloak and a crown sitting on a chair. Me being my normal curious/obnoxious self, I go over and put on the robe and pick the crown up from this little platform thing and damn if this royal waltz music starts playing. It was funny as hell! I was like well hey- guess I am really a princess huh. Haha. They also had these old timey wigs you could put on so I put on the guy one and Julie put on the chick one and we took pictures together. It was highly amusing. Oh and I finally got to buy some shoes today! HOORAY! I'm so happy. That's about all I have for you today folks. Tomorrow we are off to Hamburg!
