Greetings Number 2 from Across the Pond

Ok so I lied. I am updating it sooner. I didn't get to write everything that I wanted to write on the last blog due to time limits, so I will do it now!

So we flew to London via USAirways (hi, I hate you, sincerely,Lauren) and the flight was awful! There was so much turbulence. That and I had an aisle seat so I had nothing to lean against to sleep. There was a drunk guy on our plane but the staff asked to have him removed from the plane before take off, so they took him off the plane and then had to open the luggage carrier to find his suitcase. In order to find his, the airline took out all of our luggage and put it on the runway. Shortly thereafter it began to monsoon outside. When we finally got to our hotel in London and opened our suitcases, we discovered that our clothes were soaked! We literally hadto wring them out. They were starting to mildew so we had to go by laundry detergant and wash them in the sink and then hang them to dry in our room. Me=not a happy camper starting out....grrr..

After that incident though, everything has worked out. As I said before we have been to the London Eye, Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, St. James Palace, White Hall, Trafalgar's Square, Oxford Street, Piccadilly Circus, Big Ben, the Tower of London, Camdentown market place, US Embassy, and I feel like I'm still forgetting places.Oh yeah- we went to Herrods, which is kind of like a Macy's, but way cooler. They have bathrooms that you can drink champagne in, and the downstairs floors are food rooms that have every single type of food you could imagine- all fresh and delicious. i about died when I walked into the chocolate room, holy smokes. Overall I have absolutely loved England! I have decided that I want to have my kid come out speaking in a British accent because it is so freaking cute. Oh! And I tried fish and chips at a real Fish and Chips Shop and let me tell you...it was awesome! The people here are so sweet and helpful. I haven't had any problems. We were on one of the double decker buses and these guys got on the bus to check and make sure we all had valid bus passes. i asked my tour guide what happened if you got caught without one and in his British humor he said "You get hung, drawn, and quartered, and your wife gets raped in front of your children" The security guy who had checked the passes was standing a bit away and was talking on his phone and he paused long enough to look at me and say "true story". Hahaha.

Yesterday a few of us took the Eurostar to Paris for the night. It was pretty awesome, although scary as shit when we first got there. If you ever go through Gare du Nord, watch yourself. Yikes. Anywho- we stayed at this quaint little hotel called Hotel Luxia. It was in the middle of the red light district haha. There were sex shops all around us and the Moulin Rouge was down the street. We saw Notre Dame (which was beautiful), and we ate baguettes, cheese, and wine on the Seine river. That was such a great part- just sitting long the river with a baguette, a glass of wine, some cameret, strawberries, and a couple slices of pancetta. We had to meet the other group of students after Notre Dame so we got in this little thing called a Tuk. It was awesome! Our driver put on French Elvis music and pointed things out. There was a hookah in the backseat to smoke while you were being driven around, haha. Shout out to our driver Ah-dun! We then made it to the Effiel Tower for the midnight sparkle. It is lit up at night but on the hour it has this sparkly light show thing. That was really great as well. We were bummed that we didn't get to see the Arc du Triomphe but as we were in the taxi on the way back to the hotel, our driver took us under the Arc so we could see it. He was cool as shit too. We spoke Spanish back and forth the whole time. This morning we woke up and went to a French cafe and had breakfast. It was tea, baguettes, croissants, and eggs, and it was delicious! We are now back here in London for one more day. We leave for Brussles early Tuesday morning. Tonight Ryan and I went to the Rainforest Cafe in Leicester Square which was really exicitng as well. The only thing I need to do now is have me some damn tea and crumpets! I am bummed that Usher and Justin Beiber were performing in London tonight and I couldn't go...=( JB, my bffl. That is all for now though. Hope everything is going well back home. Can't wait to see you all in a few weeks!
